Better Drupal Administration Interface

Anyone who has played around with Drupal and other content management systems much knows that sometimes Drupal’s Administration backend can be a bit clunky to work with. You end up navigating through many levels of menus just to change some settings. For example if you would like to Uninstall a module you will need to work your way through the Administer –> Site Building –> Modules menu and then click on the Uninstall tab.

Old Menu

Obviously less than ideal. Some other CMS’s have a slick control panel look to their Admin area and most of them have a handy drop down menu system to make navigation quicker. Of course the draw backs to these are that even though they look slick you are usually stuck with a CMS that doesn’t handle nearly the things Drupal does. Have no fear Drupal lovers. Instead check out the Administration Menu Module.

The Administration Menu Module

Once you download and install this module you will find yourself with a slick menu at the top of your screen:

Now you can easily navigate to any area of your site with just a few clicks.

Bonus: Admin Menu Toolbar Style

One last thing you might want to do is enabled the Admin Menu Toolbar Style module. This module simply adds a better looking style to your Admin Menu. I find it easier to read and it seems to just “pop” a little more. Not a necessity by any means but still very handy.

Image Problem

Recently my site was lost. I have been able to re-create the content but unfortunately I will need to re-upload any pictures that are in my tutorials. Please feel free to still use the tutorials and I will upload the pictures soon. Sorry for any incoveniance.
